P> Art Ireland: Anne Since 1993, Tallentire worked on many joint projects with John Seth, under the name “work-seth/tallentire. A working version of their manifesto 3 (part … instead of object) in 2004, specifically to reconfigure space to IMMA, uses the order and disorder of things, and the juxtaposition of the action, subject and image. The interplay between image and object is in the document in 2010, explores a new work that examines the relationship between things and sense things. Anne Tallentire was born in Co. Armagh and now lives and works in London since 1984. She studied fine arts media at the Slade School of Art from 1986 to 1988 and is currently Professor of Fine Art at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design and co-organizer of the double agent-based project to MSC. The exhibition is accompanied by Rachael Thomas, Senior Curator Curator: Head of Exhibitions, Imma, and the collaboration of Karen Sweeney, Assistant Curator Organized: Exhibitions, IMMA.
While most work has used the staging Tallentire and record their own actions, adrift in Irish artist documents the actions of others in 21 short video clips showing various activities as part of routine maintenance of urban infrastructure. To Drift: Diagram XI, 2010, Tallentire worked with the Irish architect Dominic Stevens wrapped to present a video installation in eight games in a scaffolding structure on foot. Each system is specifically designed for space needs and identifies the number of “table” to emphasize the need for a critical examination of the context. P
designed a fully illustrated catalog Abake, with a preface by IMMA Director, Enrique Juncosa and new lyrics by Charles Esche, director of the Van Abbe Museum in Eindhoven, Vaara Claffey, an independent curator, Rachel Thomas and an interview with the artist by Hans Ulrich Obrist, Co-Director, Exhibitions and Programmes and Director of International Projects at the Serpentine Gallery, London, accompanies the exhibition.
